Terms of use

Malem is an open-source travel-planning service. By using it you agree to the terms below.

The service

Malem stores account and trip information so it can provide suggested itineraries, packing lists, outfit references, cultural notes, group planning, and journals across sign-ins. It is not a booking service, a travel agency, or a licensed travel advisor.

No warranties

Everything malem suggests is a suggestion. Cultural, dietary, accessibility, safety, and legal information can be out of date or inaccurate. Verify anything that matters — halal certification, accessibility routes, medical restrictions, visa requirements — with primary sources and local providers before you travel or book.

malem is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. The maintainers are not liable for any decision you make based on its output.

Your responsibilities

Third-party services

If you enable an integration (OpenAI, Anthropic, Pinterest, or any other), your use of that provider is governed by that provider's terms and privacy policy. malem does not act on their behalf.

Community content

The community journal displays a seeded set of example entries plus entries you choose to publish. Do not publish content that is illegal, misrepresents an experience you did not have, targets an individual, or violates the rights of others.

Open source

The source code is available at github.com/kikhiamasahcollege-ai/malem under the license in that repository.

Changes

These terms may change. The updated date at the top of this page will reflect the latest revision.

Privacy

How malem handles your data is described in the privacy policy.
